Over the 2011-2012 school year, the evaluation data collected suggest that the ETM program model is being effectively implemented. ETM instruction is associated with increased student learning in music and academics, improved general development of students, and builds support of music education within its partnership schools and communities.
To measure ETM’s effectiveness, surveys and/or interviews were conducted with students, teachers, principals and parents. Students’ assessment scores in music and academics were also obtained. The data collected from 2011-2012 are considered as benchmarks and will be compared across subsequent school years.
