2012 Children's Benefit
On May 1, 2012, ETM and over 200 guests honored Dr. Louis E. Bisogni at the 2012 Children's Benefit at the Grand Hyatt in midtown Manhattan. The gala featured performances by over 80 ETM partner school students, the cast from Broadway's hit musical Million Dollar Quartet, and former New York Yankee Bernie Williams and the Gil Parris Quartet. The night also included the unveiling of ETM’s new logo. A longtime supporter of ETM, Dr. Bisogni is an accomplished chiropractor, and he also studied percussion starting at the age of 12 and continues to play today. Dr. Bisogni urged the crowd to take action: "If I can be a small advocate, and each of you can be small advocates, we can make a change in our nation's scholastic culture and we can do truly great things for children in need."
20th Anniversary Children's Benefit
On May 15, 2011, ETM held its 20th Anniversary Children's Benefit at Chelsea Piers, Pier 60. We honored Dante Di Loreto, Executive Producer of the hit television series Glee, for his outstanding work as a national advocate for music education. Glee stars Jane Lynch, Jenna Ushkowitz, Chord Overstreet, and Darren Criss joined us to celebrate Mr. Di Loreto’s efforts. Children from six New York City partner schools showcased their musical talents by performing a tribute to Mr. Di Loreto and the gala guests, and the evening concluded with a performance from world-renowned violinist Joshua Bell. The ETM 20th Anniversary Children's Benefit was the perfect way to celebrate 20 years of providing high-quality music instruction to the children of New York City.
