- After the Jump WinterFest After the Jump, an organization composed of music writers and bloggers, is holding a music festival on December 8th at the Knitting Factory. The group is taking over all three floors, and a percentage of the profits will benefit ETM! Visit After the Jump Fest. (more info to come. . . .)
We will most likely be holding two more events between now and the summer (and possibly one cultivation event) All proceeds will benefit PS 155's music program:
- "Bowl-a-thon" - We will be looking into holding a team bowling outing early next year (February or March). Suggested locations include Harlem Lanes, Leisure Time Bowling at the Port Authority, and Bowlmor Lanes. If you have any interest in helping to spearhead this event, or would like more information, please email Emily.
- "School of Rock" event - Together with our friends at all day buffet, we will be co-hosting a benefit in the late spring. We were inspired by the movie "School of Rock" and are setting out to sort of re-create the concept. Basically, we want to secure five well-known musicians to "coach" (i.e. meet with once or twice; the ETM programming folks will do the rest) five groups of ETM students on a song that they will be performing at this event. This fundraiser will provide all sorts of opportunities to get involved, including helping to secure a venue, finding artists to donate their time, approaching companies to help sponsor the event, and assisting with the marketing and communications efforts.
