Walfredo Toscanini

Walfredo Toscanini passed away on December 31 at the age of 82.  An architect and political activist, he also worked to preserve and disseminate the artistic legacy of his family throughout his lifetime.  Mr. Toscanini was the grandson of the famed conductor Arturo Toscanini; his mother, Cia Fornaroli, was a prima ballerina in Milan during the 1920s, and his father, Walter Toscanini, was a dance-historian.

Mr. Toscanini was a valued member of ETM's Advisory Committee since 1991, and we are grateful for his service.

Quotes

  • "The substantive music education that ETM is implementing in schools is, indeed, a real step toward success in learning and life-long enrichment with music--for every child. The philosophy and goal is exactly what I believe. Bravo!"
